Applications are now open for Oakland’s inaugural Startup in Residence (STIR) program!

STIR invites innovative technology entrepreneurs to help solve challenges faced by City government.

For 16 weeks, startups help departments unpack issues with digital service delivery and prototype solutions refined through user testing. Startups gain insight into civic needs to develop products that support critical community services.

The STIR Program includes four cities: Oakland, San Francisco, San Leandro and West Sacramento. City of Oakland has identified priority civic challenges in Housing, Human Services, Public Works and Police. Startups select their preferred city and challenge. The City will give preference to Oakland-based applicants who reflect the city’s diversity.

Deadline to apply is Feb 18 at 12:00am.
